Scuba Diving in Malta
Malta, as a small Island located in the in the Mediterranean between Sicily and Tunisia is a perfect spot to pursue scuba diving. The Islands of Malta are very popular for divers all over the world. Dives are mostly shore based due to the fact that shore – shelves away rapidly and moderately deep diving is possible not far away from the shore. Malta is an ideal holiday destination for travelers who are looking for a holiday which is purely dedicated to diving. Diving is being offered all over the Island as well as on Gozo and Comino. Wherever one chooses to stay you will have the opportunity to dive.

Since Malta played a big role in the Second World War as the base midway between Europe and North Africa, more bombs were dropped on the Island than in the UK itself. As a consequence we now have the possibility for great wreck dives. There are also a few wrecks which have been sunk on purpose to serve as a tourist attraction.
Spending a day diving on the Maltese reefs one will find sea grass and coral beds with an impressive amount of life on the reefs. One may encounter tuna, jacks, barracuda, octopus, moray eels, seahorses and a selection of smaller reef fish. Additionally, the Islands of Malta consist of limestone walls which create many caves and arches which improve the diving experience.
