Beautiful Gardens in Malta

The climate in Malta is characterized by long hot summer but there are a lot of gardens that you can visit during tour stay in Malta. Many gardens are located on Malta’s historical bastions and from there you can get fantastic views of the island’s fortifications. Others are located at the centre of towns and villages and provide a tranquil ambient to have a pleasant time.

San Anton Gardens, Attard

Buskett Gardens are the only extensive woodland on the Maltese Islands and were planted by the Knights of Malta to be used as a hunting ground.

Today Buskett is one of the greenest areas in Malta and are home to different type of trees such as orange, cactus, Mediterranean pines and cypress trees, bushes, shrubs and flowers. The garden also holds vineyards, olive and lemon groves.

Buskett Gardens is a very popular place for picnics and nature lovers who want to discover the flora and fauna.

 

 

Argotti Gardens, Floriana

These gardens were originally the private garden of a knight. In 1805, it was converted into a botanical garden. They have a fine collection of native species and have a fantastic view of Marsamsett Harbour. The gardens are often the venue of arts and cultural events

 

 

 

 

Garden of Serenity, Santa Lucija

The Chinese Garden of Serenity is located on the outskirts of Santa Lucija. It was built in the 1996-97 and was a project aided by the Chinese Government. The garden it presents various philosophical ideas traditionally symbolized in Chinese gardens

Rocks and water are the two important physical elements: water symbolizes contemplation while the rocks symbolize manifestation.

 

 

 

 

Palazzo Parisio

The gardens are the grounds of this private palace. The gardens are the only private gardens in Malta that are open to visitors.
