Carnival Celebration

February brings Carnival to Malta! Some hate it, others bear it, while others simply live every day of the year waiting for those five short days in early Spring when the silliness, the senseless and the idiotic takes over. Carnival is a passion shared by many people, including the Maltese.Everybody is dressing up and enjoys a week full of carnival sweets and parades.

Malta’s nightlife capital, Paceville, welcomes carnivals party people to its clubs and bars. The heart of the actions are Valletta & Floriana but also other towns and villages across the Island have their own festivities which are worth visiting. Carnival in Nadur, Gozo, takes on a particularly comic and macabre tone with its spontaneous night-time carnival.
