Tony Caruana, the 53-year-old owner of the hostel, welcomes you to Malta. Tony is a traveller himself and has travelled already to 54 different countries. He has always been travelling as a backpacker; so he knows and understands the needs, wants of such travellers, and has learned the essentials of budget travelling. He had his own mini market for 16 years and now runs this hostel since the last 14 years. Tony works almost every day in the hostel and will help you with everything you need, from checking-in to providing you with more information about what to see.
Tony will do everything he can to meet the needs of his guests and he is more than pleased to join guests in the evening for a drink while telling them about Malta and other things they would like to know. As for groups, he helps by arranging the best holiday possible, with good value for money.

Would you like to enjoy your stay in a good quality hostel with competitive pricing and great hospitality located in one of Malta's main tourist areas while at the same time contribute actively to the environment and support Tony in his efforts in promoting Malta in a responsible way? Then come and stay in Lingo Guesthouse for your holiday.
Tony runs the hostel with only locals to help him as he believes that, "Together we can help each other. Huge hotels do not care about us so we stick together. In 17 years that I have run this place, I have always invested in the host, to run at the least cost possible.
"I have dug a huge well under the house that can take 1000's of gallons of rain water, Also, as there is a natural stream under the property, this goes into the well and is then pumped to the system. I have also invested in solar water heaters, and I hope in the coming years I will have the possibility to install more solar water heaters and also solar panels. As my place is on top of a hill I hope that it is also viable to pay for wind generators. In all the shower baths I have installed a shower head that will only work if you hold it in your hand, to avoid waste of water."
Furthermore, Tony has displayed notices in all rooms to ask the guests to recycle waste and have different containers in the house so that they can segregate the garbage.
