During the guided Highlights of Malta tour you will discover several main attractions spread over Malta. After the pick-up you will be driven to Mosta where the tour will start by visiting the 3rd largest Dome in Europe. After some explanations there is some time to take pictures. Then you will visit several local artisans' workshops where typical Maltese ware is being produced, like glass, silver and filigree, and you will have time to possibly buy some of this work as souvenirs at good-deal prices. Next the guides take you to the Silent City Mdina, the old capital of Malta with its defence bastions that date back to the 9th century. You will walk through this Silent City while hearing the interesting historical stories of this town and visit St. Paul's Cathedral which was built between 1697 and 1702 to replace a cathedral of the Vikings which was destroyed due to an earthquake. Then the tour continues to the bastions providing a panoramic view of the island. After that you will continue walking to Rabat, which is located next to Mdina and where some classic catacombs of St. Paul are found. These catacombs were used to bury the deceased instead of burying them in the city. In Rabat there will also be a one-hour lunch beak at one of Rabat's restaurants for a typical Maltese three course lunch and local wine. At the end of the tour you will visit Dingli Cliffs, the highest point of Malta, providing breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea.
